I Know What You Did Last Summer is the latest ’90s classic getting a reboot, and it will be worth watching for its cast alone. Camila Mendes and Madelyn Cline landed lead roles, and they’ll be joined by Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, and Jonah Hauer-King.
I Know What You Did Last Summer came out in 1997, and its star-studded cast included Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, and Freddie Prinze Jr. The success of the first film inspired two sequels, while Amazon Prime Video produced a TV series set in the same universe.
The new Last Summer film has been described as a legacy sequel with a brand-new cast, and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) will be in charge of directing it. Leah McKendrick wrote the initial draft of the script, while Robinson later polished it alongside Sam Lansky
Riverdale alum Camila Mendes and Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline will lead the cast of this reboot, and they’ll be in good company. The cast will also include Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid), Sarah Pidgeon (The Wilds), and Tyriq Withers (Tell Me Lies).
I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot will hit the theatres on July 18, 2025, and the door is open for the original cast members to reprise their roles.
