After playing Jack Ryan in Amazon Prime Video’s hit series, John Krasinski will get a chance to step into his shoes again. Amazon MGM Studios is plotting a new feature film about the iconic spy from Tom Clancy’s beloved book series, with Krasinski returning in the lead role.

The upcoming feature film will mark the extension of Amazon’s Jack Ryan universe, which kicked off with a series of the same name. It ran on Prime Video for four seasons before ending its run last year and saw war veteran Jack Ryan being thrust into dangerous field assignments after joining the CIA.

John Krasinski is coming back as the lead of Amazon’s sequel film, in addition to producing it alongside Andrew Form and his Sunday Night partner, Allyson Seeger. Andrew Bernstein will direct the film and serve as one of the executive producers alongside Skydance’s David Ellison and Dana Goldberg, plus John Kelly and Carlton Cuse, while Aaron Rabin wrote the script.

John Krasinski is fresh off directing, writing, producing, and starring in the fantasy drama IF, which came out earlier this year. He’ll next be seen in Guy Ritchie’s Fountain of Youth opposite Natalie Portman, Domhnall Gleeson, and Eiza González.
