Remakes of iconic horrors are having a moment in Hollywood these days, and Wolf Man is the latest classic to get a modern makeover. Universal Pictures dropped the first trailer for this highly-anticipated film, which sees Christopher Abbott transforming into a monster and terrorizing his family.
A reboot of the 1941 film of the same name, Wolf Man stars Abbott as Blake, a San Francisco husband and father. His decision to take a break from the city at his remote childhood home in rural Oregon with his family turns into a nightmare when they’re forced to barricade themselves after being attacked by an unseen animal.
“As the night stretches on, however, Blake begins to behave strangely, transforming into something unrecognizable, and Charlotte will be forced to decide whether the terror within their house is more lethal than the danger without,” reads Universal’s official logline.
Julia Garner (Ozark) joins Abbot in the role of Blake’s high-powered wife Charlotte, while the rest of the cast includes Matilda Firth at their daughter Ginger, plus Sam Jaeger (The Handmaid’s Tale), Ben Prendergast (The Sojourn Audio Drama) and Benedict Hardie (The Invisible Man).
Wolf Man hails from The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell, and it will hit the theaters on January 17, 2025.
