Apple TV’s Long-Running Sci-Fi Drama Keeps Finding an Audience

Apple TV has become one of the more reliable homes for science fiction, but many of its biggest genre titles are still relatively new. That makes For All Mankind something of an exception. The space drama first arrived in 2019, the same year Apple TV launched, and it is now on track for a sixth season, making it the streamer’s longest-running sci-fi series.

Over the years, the show has followed an increasingly ambitious path through an alternate space race, sending its characters farther into the cosmos with each new chapter. According to the report, For All Mankind has remained a strong title for Apple TV, earning praise from both critics and viewers across much of its run.

Streaming momentum looks different after the latest season

That said, the last two seasons have not landed as strongly as the earlier ones. The report notes that some viewers and critics have pointed to a more melodramatic direction, and while the series still scores well overall, its critical reception has slipped compared with previous seasons. On streaming, the recent season had a harder time keeping audiences engaged and struggled to reach the top five of Apple TV’s global chart, according to FlixPatrol data.

Even so, the show has shown surprising staying power after the season finale. More than a month later, it has continued to appear regularly in the top ten, even as newer titles rise quickly and disappear just as fast. That suggests that while fans may not be rushing to watch each new episode immediately, the series still has a dependable audience. With a sixth and final season ahead, the show could benefit if lapsed viewers catch up before the story ends.
