Fresh concept art from Avengers: Doomsday has given fans an early look at one of Marvel’s most closely watched new villains. The image, shared on X by former Marvel Studios visual development director Andy Park, appears to show Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom mask for the first time. Park described the artwork as a celebration of his final full film leading visual development at Marvel Studios.
The illustration also seems to confirm looks for several returning X-Men characters who had not yet appeared in promotional material. Among them are Nightcrawler, played by Alan Cumming, Beast, played by Kelsey Grammer, and Mystique, played by Rebecca Romijn. A mysterious image of Loki, portrayed by Tom Hiddleston, also sits at the center of the art, adding to the film’s crowded and secretive lineup.
Park’s post arrives after his departure from Marvel Studios was announced earlier this year amid Disney layoffs. In his message, he reflected on a run that stretched from 2010 to 2026 and included more than 40 films, with 15 of them led by him as director of visual development. The reveal comes as Avengers: Doomsday continues to shape up as one of Marvel’s biggest releases, with a large cast that includes Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Letitia Wright and others.
