Taylor Frankie Paul is speaking out as her custody disputes continue, making clear that she does not see herself as flawless while defending her parenting. In a new vlog, the reality star said she is aware of the criticism surrounding her family life, but argued that some of the information circulating about her is inaccurate, exaggerated, or simply false.
Paul said she is dealing with separate custody fights involving ex-husband Tate Paul and ex Dakota Mortensen. She shares daughter Indy and son Ocean with Tate, and son Ever with Mortensen. In the video, she said she has been consulting with attorneys about a Utah Division of Child and Family Services petition that asked a juvenile court to find her three children were abused, neglected, or dependent, and to place them under protective supervision.
According to Paul, she does not need to read through court documents to understand what has happened because she has lived through it herself. She said the matter will be handled in court rather than online, and added that she wants certain details kept private for the sake of her children, even though she expects more information will eventually become public. She also said she believes she has made progress in the courtroom, describing the process as slow but moving forward.
Paul addressed one specific allegation from the DCFS filing, firmly denying that she made her daughter Indy change Ever’s diapers. She said Indy only helped when she wanted to and insisted she never forced her to do it. Paul also reacted to what she described as leaked information appearing on the same day she resumed extended visitation with Ever, saying the timing was upsetting.
Near the end of her message, Paul said she was not trying to persuade anyone to change their opinion of her. Instead, she described herself as open about both the difficult and the good parts of her life. While acknowledging that she has made mistakes, she said she is standing up for herself and believes her children would choose her if asked. She closed by saying the situation has been the hardest experience of her life and that she is choosing to show the process rather than go silent.
