]]>While the group is out shopping, they end up inside Dazzle Me Moi, a local boutique full of rhinestone-heavy outfits that initially leaves Rebecca unimpressed. That changes after the store owner explains how the business survived a difficult stretch and later found momentum thanks to Swift’s concert visit to the city. According to the episode, a member of Swift’s team stopped in, bought an outfit and shared it online, which helped turn the shop into a busier destination.
The owner frames the boost in terms of women backing women, a message that clearly lands with Rebecca, who ends up buying the pantsuit herself. The scene folds the store’s success story into the episode’s broader themes of friendship, support and reinvention, while also nodding to Swift’s real-life Kansas City connection, which later became part of her relationship with Travis Kelce.
Executive producer Jamie Lee said the reference likely grew out of conversations in the writers’ room, where Swift was already a regular topic. She noted that the Eras Tour was taking place as the season was being written, or had just happened, and that some writers had attended while others wanted to. Lee added that Swift is difficult to avoid in conversation because of how prominent she is.
Season four of Ted Lasso is now streaming on Apple TV.

]]>The article points to several recent examples of Challenge love stories that have gone beyond the house. Olivia Kaiser and Theo Campbell, who competed together on the show’s 41st season, later revealed they were expecting a baby. Olivia said in a December Instagram post that she was pregnant, adding that it came as a surprise. Their child, Atlas, is now 8 months old. The report also notes that Kam Williams and Leroy Garrett have built a family of their own, with two children after meeting on the series.
Kam Williams and Leroy Garrett are one of the franchise’s most established couples. After meeting on The Challenge: Vendettas, they later announced they were expecting in December 2021. Leroy proposed a month before their son Kingston was born in May 2022, and their daughter Aria arrived in February 2024. Kam has said in an Instagram post that finding love through a dating show and then reconnecting through competition led her to the “love of my life,” and the pair later eloped on Aug. 5, 2025.
The piece also revisits other well-known Challenge romances. Tori Deal has had several relationships tied to the franchise, including with Derrick Henry, Emanuel Neagu, Faysal Shafaat, and Jordan Wiseley, whom she became engaged to. Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio, meanwhile, has also had multiple on-screen relationships, including with Natalie Negrotti and Moriah Jadea, and he dated Morgan Willett after they met on The Challenge: War of the Worlds. Even so, he has said that showmances can create more complications than benefits because they affect both players’ games. Still, the article makes clear that for many cast members, what begins in the house does not always end when filming does.

]]>That privacy has become part of the story around them. Anderson, who recently won Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay at the Oscars for One Battle After Another, has said he finds the family’s home life in Southern California’s San Fernando Valley grounding. Rudolph, meanwhile, has balanced her own busy schedule with projects including her Broadway debut in Oh, Mary! and appearances in Anderson’s films Inherent Vice and Licorice Pizza. Still, the couple are not known for turning every awards event into a public date night, even if Rudolph appeared more often this season in support of Anderson’s latest film.
At home, the focus is on their four children: Pearl, Lucille, Jack, and Minnie. The report notes that the children have all appeared on screen, making their film debut in Licorice Pizza, while Pearl also had a role in One Battle After Another. Anderson has described the household as lively and full of music, while Rudolph has spoken about learning to work without feeling overwhelmed by guilt, as long as her children were cared for and supported. Minnie, the youngest, was named after Rudolph’s late mother, singer Minnie Riperton.
Their relationship has also remained notable for how little they have tried to package it for public consumption. Anderson has said he was nervous when the pair were described as celebrity royalty, and he has even laughed at paparazzi photos he found unintentionally funny. Yet the report suggests the real story is simpler: two performers with busy careers who have built a stable, private family life together, and who continue to show up for each other when it matters most.

]]>The comment came alongside an AI-generated short version of The Odyssey that was shared by another X user. Musk’s post suggested the longer film would arrive by the end of 2026, placing it squarely in the current awards-season conversation.
The idea of a “historically accurate” take on The Odyssey is likely to raise eyebrows, given that the story includes cyclops, a six-headed monster and a witch who turns sailors into pigs. The poem is nearly 2,800 years old and is generally regarded as a work of fiction, making any claim of literal historical accuracy difficult to square with the source material.
The report also notes that Musk has been outspoken about the film world’s handling of The Odyssey before Christopher Nolan’s version was released. He previously criticized casting choices and singled out Lupita Nyong’o’s involvement as Helen of Troy. Musk had also amplified transphobic posts related to Elliot Page, who was later confirmed to be playing Sinon.
Even so, Nolan’s The Odyssey has become a major box-office success for Universal. The film opened to $264 million worldwide and is now expected to keep building momentum, with the studio and the director looking positioned for a major commercial win.

Alongside the new Top Trumps show, the network has ordered three more seasons of Mock the Week, pushing the revived panel series through Season 5 in 2027. The show, which originally ran at the BBC for two decades before going on hiatus in 2022, returned to TLC earlier this year and has already aired its first season and a summer special. Season 2 is due on Sept. 13.
Mock the Week remains hosted by Dara Ó Briain and is produced by Angst Productions. TLC has also already launched another original comedy format, Unacceptable, hosted by Ed Gamble, which premiered last month and has been picked up for a second season. Goh said this year’s theme, Resonance, was meant to reflect the emotional impact stories leave behind and the way films continue to spark conversation across cultures, generations and borders.
The event also included remarks from Datuk Manoharan Periasamy of Tourism Malaysia, who reaffirmed support for MIFFest’s role in strengthening the country’s creative sector and cultural diplomacy. Other attendees included Datuk Bahria Mohd Tamil of the Ministry of Communications and Datuk Azmir Saifuddin Mutalib, CEO of FINAS. Goh also presented tokens of appreciation to the festival ambassadors during the ceremony.
The night’s central moment was the presentation of the ASEAN Records title to MIFFest, honoring its ASEAN On Screen platform and the Malaysia Golden Global Awards as a lasting showcase for Southeast Asian cinema. Goh accepted the recognition on behalf of the festival and noted that ASEAN On Screen was created to help regional stories reach wider audiences. The program, launched in 2025 during Malaysia’s ASEAN chairship, has since become a permanent annual part of MIFFest.
After the ceremony, guests attended the world premiere of the opening film, Baga: Tomorrow Belongs To No One, directed by Ariff Zulkarnain. ]]>Writer-director Amy Heckerling developed the project after being asked by Fox’s TV department to come up with an idea centered on popular high school kids. She drew inspiration from Emma and from her own observations of Beverly Hills High, where she noticed students constantly focused on grooming and presentation. The early versions of the film even went through different working titles, including No Worries and I Was a Teenage Teenager, before Clueless became the name audiences know today.
Alicia Silverstone was strongly associated with the role of Cher from the start. Heckerling had noticed her in Aerosmith videos and even brought that footage to help make her case. Silverstone later confirmed she did not spend much time overthinking Cher’s relationship with Paul Rudd’s character, explaining in a 2023 interview that the dynamic did not strike her as especially strange. She has also continued to revisit the film over the years by recreating scenes and wearing Cher-inspired outfits on social media, saying people love the movie.
The report also highlights how the film became a sleeper hit, earning $55 million and quickly winning over studio leadership. Sherry Lansing recalled leaving the first screening with a blank notepad because she felt the movie was already working. Clueless went on to make stars of Silverstone, Rudd, Stacey Dash, and Brittany Murphy, while influencing the teen movies that followed. Its slang, fashion, and central message about a flawed but good-hearted heroine helped turn it into a lasting favorite that still gets celebrated today.

]]>According to Sextro, younger audiences are now playing a bigger role in sustaining arthouse and independent cinema than older viewers once did. He pointed to the post-pandemic rise of cinephilia fueled by online archives, social media and platforms like Letterboxd, which has helped draw younger fans to repertory screenings and special events. For him, that shift is especially encouraging because independent film has traditionally depended on older moviegoers, a pattern he says changed after COVID.
Sextro also said the industry is increasingly being driven by “fandom” — the kind of built-in enthusiasm that can help a title break through. He cited films such as Curry Barker’s “Obsession” and Kane Parsons’ “Backrooms” as examples of projects that benefit from that energy. In response, Utopia is reducing the number of films it releases each year and focusing more attention on each title. The company, he said, plans to move from roughly nine to ten releases annually to about four to five, with only one film launched at a time and a more elaborate roadshow-style approach.
He said that while it is still hard for small indie releases to remain in theaters, Utopia believes audiences respond when a film is designed as a special experience rather than a routine rollout. Sextro said the company wants to create releases that feel made for a specific audience, even if that requires more work than a traditional campaign. He used the recent documentary “Summer Tour,” produced by Chloe Sevigny and directed by Mischa Richter, as an example: Utopia toured the film for six weeks before its general release, screening it only in music venues and pairing it with a 90-minute live concert by the Grateful Dead cover band featured in the movie.
For Sextro, that kind of strategy reflects a broader reset in the business. He said the old model of simply putting a well-reviewed independent film into theaters is no longer enough, and that the company is adapting by building releases around events, audience connection and a more curated sense of anticipation.

Described as a sci-fi comedy, the film follows a group of humanoid aliens who arrive on Earth planning to destroy humanity, only to become attached to the people they encounter. Its cast includes Blanchett, Chris Pine, Dave Bautista, Léa Seydoux, Lily-Rose Depp and Adria Arjona.
Also added is Glaxo, from director Benjamín Naishtat. Set in a small provincial town over several decades, from the 1950s through the 1980s, the film centers on four young men whose lives become intertwined in a story of desire and revenge against a backdrop of unrest in Brazil.
Love of Your Life, directed by Rachel Morrison, marks the filmmaker’s second feature behind the camera. The romantic drama, produced by Ryan Gosling, follows a nurse played by Margaret Qualley who is swept into a major love affair. The cast also features Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aaron Pierre, Gabriel Basso and Catherine Keener.
Rounding out the batch are The Housewife, Ben Shirinian’s feature debut about a New York Times journalist investigating a possible Nazi officer in Queens whose reporting becomes complicated by the man’s wife, played by Naomi Watts, and Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, the sophomore feature from Bassam Tariq. That film stars Mahershala Ali as a deeply religious hitman named Latif, who crosses Houston in a bid to protect his family as enemies close in.
